Metalsmithing Demonstration – Art Department

7511 Mosse Humanities Building

Description

This event will take place in the UW-Madison Art Department’s Art Metals studio, where various techniques and aspects of metalsmithing will be demonstrated. Heating metal until it is malleable, soldering with torches, how a flat piece of metal is sized for a ring, and other processes will be highlighted. Demonstrations will be an hour long and questions are encouraged.

Demonstrations occurring:

  • 12:00-1:00 PM
  • 1:00-2:00 PM
  • 2:00-3:00 PM

Note: The event is intended for ages 10 and up. If we reach capacity, visitors may need to come back for a different session.
