Hiram Smith Hall

Description

Come explore Hiram Smith Hall, one of the oldest buildings on campus, the first permanent dairy instruction building in the US, and home to the top science communication programs in the country. This self-guided tour explores the buildings historic architecture and original features and provides guests with an insight into the Department of Life Sciences Communication (LSC).

LSC offers bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral education in science communication. Our research, teaching, and outreach focus on both applied and theoretical communication issues. A degree in LSC prepares students for professional and academic careers related to communicating about health, the environment, agriculture, and the biological sciences in an era of rapid technological change and media convergence.
