8-10 p.m. – Just Bust!
Join us for Madison’s longest-running all-ages open mic, Just Bust!, from 8–10 p.m. every first Friday of the month. Sign-up starts at 7:45 p.m. —

Come share your poetry, music, comedy, dance, or other artistic expression. A feature presentation by Marlon Hall, an Interdisciplinary Artist in residence with the Division of the Arts, will follow the Open mic.

Immerse yourself in a soul-stirring art performance titled “A Garden, Not a Graveyard” by Marlon Hall, an Artist and Anthropologist. This performance features Ethnographic Poet Kode Ransom and musical songstress Ayilla, inspired by the Spirit of Black Wall Street.

Just Bust! is presented by the Office of Multicultural Arts Initiatives (OMAI) within the Division of Diversity, Equity & Educational Achievement (DDEEA) in partnership with the Division of the Arts. OMAI administers the DDEEA’s First Wave Scholarship, a full-tuition, four-year program for students interested in hip-hop and spoken word performance.
